CSCI 171: project phase I game concept and initial sales pitch
This phase is Worth 10% of your total mark,
and is due at the start of the lab on January 26th
Deliverables and expectations
This deliverable represents the concept document/sales pitch for
your planned course project.
A hardcopy, word-processed document
is to be submitted to the course instructor by the deadline noted
above.
Spelling, grammar, and overall professionalism of the document
will be considered as part of the grading.

before starting this deliverable, though note
that many of the requirements have been "toned down" due to the introductory
nature of the course and project. |
Required contents:
- Cover page
This must include the names and email addresses of the team members
(you may work individually or in pairs), your team name, and
your project/game name.
- Concept document / sell sheet
A single page, summarizing what your game is and who would buy it
if you were to market it.
This should be targetted as a clear summary for folks who don't see
the rest of the submission.
- Preliminary images and/or sketches
Include a set of scenes, sketches, images and/or hypothetical
screenshots that highlight the game style, gameplay, and key characters
and storyline (if appropriate) for the game.
- Game design overview
This describes the games features in more detail than the overview
This should include discussion of:
- any key characters and storyline (if appropriate)
and general flow of the game
- the gameplay mechanics, interface, and controls
- the artistic styles (images, animation, music)
- Comparative analysis
This should summarize a small number of past/current/forthcoming
games that are most closely comperable to your own game (or parts of it),
clarifying how they are like/unline your own.
This should help give the reader a feel for your game in
relationship to others they have experience with.
