InfoLink v1.0 Help
InfoLink is an online hypertext browser allowing you to read hypertext
documents. Hypertext documents are documents that contain links
to other documents of interest. As a matter of fact that is how you got
to this document. When you started InfoLink it loaded a introductory
document that provides access to the supplemental documents provided with
you software and the document you are reading now. Links in InfoLink are words
or phrases in blue. The sentence in which the link is contained
or the words in the link itself describe the document that is accessible via
that link. In order to access the document that the link refers to, just
click the mouse on one of the blue words of the link.
This is called following the link. It's as simple as that!
While reading documents with InfoLink you will also encounter words that have
been shown in red. These words are colored for emphasise by the author of the
document. For example, the word links in the first paragraph has been
emphasized because it is a new word or concept being described.
The following are some useful keys that you may type in InfoLink to perform
different actions.
- Page Up - Scrolls the document down a number of lines on the screen.
- Page Down - Scrolls the document up a number of lines on the screen.
- Up Arrow - Scrolls the document down one line on the screen.
- Down Arrow - Scrolls the document up one line on the screen.
- H or h - Returns to the first document loaded (the home document).
- B or b - Returns to the last document loaded before the current one.
- L or l - Load a specific document given by file name.
- P or p - Print the current document.
- x - Exit InfoLink
- <ctrl>-l - Redraws the screen.
To return to the introduction document try type B or b to return to the
previous document, since that was the last document you visited. You may
also try typing H or h, since that document is the first document loaded by
InfoLink when it started. Finally, you could also try following this
link to get to the introduction.
