Each student will be subject to an oral exam whuch will be scheduled within the last week of term. The exam will consist of a project defence followed by questions which will cover project material and all material covered in the course. The project write-up is due on or before midnight on the day before the exam period begins.
Appeals of Grades: Any written exercise or examination grade may be appealed. However, the appeal must be made to the instructor, in writing and attached to the work in question, and within 14 days of the grade being made available to the class. The instructor reserves the right to re-grade the entire piece of work submitted on appeal, not necessarily just the component that the student believes is in error.
The oral exam grade may be appealed. To this end, a second defence will be scheduled in the regular exam period with the addition of one extra examiner (from the CSCI faculty).
Grade Conversion: The following scale will be used but the instructor reserves the right to lower the numerical score required for a particular letter grade if that seems appropriate, but the same conversion will be applied to all persons in the class. Under no circumstances will the numerical score required for a particular letter grade be raised.

NOTE : In order to pass the course, the following conditions MUST ALL be satisfied:
(1) a passing mark must be obtained in the combined mark of the Lab Tests
(2) a passing mark must be obtained in the combined mark of the Lab Exercises
(3) a passing mark must be obtained in the Oral Exam
